Rectangle App ships with a full set of keyboard shortcuts built around ⌃⌥ (Control + Option) as the modifier pair.

Customising shortcuts
Open Rectangle Preferences (⌘,) and click any shortcut field to change it. Press your desired key combination and it saves immediately. If there's a conflict with a system shortcut, Rectangle highlights it in orange.

Shortcut tips
The Repeated commands cycle through sizes option in Preferences is Rectangle App's most underrated feature. With it enabled, pressing Left Half once gives 50%; pressing again gives 66%; a third time gives 33%. You triple your effective layout library with zero additional shortcuts.
For users switching from Windows, the default Rectangle shortcuts are close enough to Windows Snap that retraining is minimal. Left Half and Right Half on arrow keys is the same mental model — the raccourcis clavier de gestion des fenêtres Mac you already know.
Frequently asked questions
Can I export my Rectangle shortcuts?
Shortcuts are stored in ~/Library/Preferences/com.knollsoft.Rectangle.plist. Copy this file to another Mac and the shortcuts transfer automatically.
Why don't my shortcuts work after a macOS update?
macOS occasionally resets third-party Accessibility permissions after major updates. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, remove Rectangle, and re-add it.
Does Rectangle Pro add more shortcuts?
Rectangle Pro adds layout positions — sixths, custom fractions, gap controls — each of which can have its own shortcut. The shortcut system itself is the same.
