YOGA SESSIONS - Drawing From The Roots

The tracklist of the "Yoga Sessions" CD that was compiled by internationally-renowned deep-house DJ/producer DJ DIXON and Berlin-based yoga teacher Ana Ofak was designed according to the course of a vinyasa flow yoga class:

1) Recollecting, joining in and wiping off everyday troubles
2) Warming up through sun salutations
3) Challenging and enjoying oneself in standing poses and balances
4) Diversity and concentration within seating and twisting poses
5) Opening new perspectives and transforming through inversion
6) Being calm and attentive in deep relaxation

Yoga and electronic music are no antagonisms. Rather the opposite: the CD compilation YOGA SESSIONS illustrates, how both worlds easily melt together. Tracks by musicians such as Larry Heard, Joakim, U.F.O., Ezekiel Honig,Lawrence, Ame and Tarwater seamlessly fit into the course of yoga lessons. In cooperation with the Berlin based yoga teacher Ana Ofak, DJ DIXON, internationally known for his deep house sets and productions, has introduced electronic music into the sphere of vinyasa flow yoga.

Vinyasa flow yoga is a dynamic and fluent yoga style, which tunes into the pulse of the breath. One pose follows the other inciting dance like movement.To inspire mind, body & soul and to synchronise the movement of a class, the music mirrors essential aspects of vinyasa flow yoga.Through the music, practitioners find their intuitive ryhthm and moving frequence more easily. The challenge of a faster sequence is playfully mastered, the excercise routine loosened up. Letting go of everyday troubles and the opening of the heart is subtly inspired. It allows a creative and more sophisticated introduction into yoga.

Besides the excellence of the musical selection, the CD offers an insight into the poetry and philosophy of yoga. Focusing on the first encounter with yoga, the CD is titled "Drawing From The Roots". The title refers to the act of discovering the fundaments and stability of the body as well as the imaginative ways of relaxation that are produced by listening to music and feeling its sensuality.
